Bulliac Angus has it's home base and bull preparation unit at "Wandaloo" and "Wilga Dale" East of Miles, Queensland.
The Bulliac cow herd consists of several production units owned by the Hill and Bidgood Families. The cows are run on various owned and agistment blocks at Miles, Uralla and Emerald.
The core breeding direction remains the same as set by Ben Hill, to produce cattle which suit a variety of environments; are functional in type and suitable for multiple market end points. Bryan Bidgood and Marg Will as well as other family members, have input with Ben in evaluating potential sires to be considered and used. Calves produced by Bulliac are numbered to identify place and group / location to weaning. At weaning all bull calves go to Miles to grow out and develop, season depending.
All cattle are reared under commercial conditions – that’s why we say they are “The Right Angus”.
The whole reason we are able to make such a statement is due to client feedback and our own knowledge of how our cow herd perform year after year.
We could produce and make claims of having the heaviest bulls, highest calving percentage, tightest calving period or highest carcase numbers, by drastically increasing inputs. But we believe these factors have little to do with bull longevity or performance in the real world.
